A PR announcement from Square Enix says that the company is to estasblish a wholly-owned subsidiary that take over SE's business from October 2008. They will change their name to Square-Enix Holdings Co, Ltd. and the process will be sent for approval by shareholders in June.

They mention that due to a rapidly changing business environment, they want a group company to manage profitability and accountability, including capital affiliations with third-parties

No mention of capital losses, but SE-H will gain all assets, liabilies, rights and obligations.

Everything will stay the same, Yoichi Wada is still in charge, it's located in the same location and the purpose is still the same (to produce games online and offline, mobile phone content and publication). It just implementing a pure holding company system, and like the PR mentions it's to create less mess
